About gDonna
The photo is my son and myself. Now days you can get a photo made to look old like this one. This photo was taken when this was the new look.

Harry S Truman was president when I was born and world war II had ended. I grew up in a time when lunch was put in a brown paper bag and a sandwich was wrapped with wax paper. There was no such thing as pantyhose, we wore stockings that attached to the rubbery clippy things that attached to the girdle. Convenience stores were not common and when we took a trip we packed a picnic basket because many places did not have fast food. Highways had places to pull over and stop, some with picnic tables. Egg, Dairy,& Nut Free Bread

September 30, 2011

ALWAYS CHECK YOUR INGREDIENTS FOR ALLERGENS

One loaf bread machine Bread

1 cup warm water (not hot)

3 tablespoons olive oil

3 cups bread flour OR 1 cup wheat flour and 2 cups bread flour.

3 & ½ Tablespoons sugar

1 teaspoon salt

2 teaspoons bread machine yeast

Add wet ingredients first into your bread machine pan. Then add flour, sugar, salt then yeast.

Set your machine to baking a regular size white bread. All machines are different so use your judgment here. You should have a nice textured loaf of bread.

Two loaves, dough cycle only Bread

You will need two bread pans

For this bread you will be using the dough cycle on your bread machine. After the dough cycle is done remove the dough pull it apart into two pieces shape into two oiled bread pans. Use olive oil. Let it rise again for 45 minutes to 1 hour. This is where you will learn as you go how long to let it rise.

Sometimes your yeast if it is older will take longer or if it is fresh will take shorter time. It depends on the temperature in your house. Some people let the bread rise in the oven with the light on. I let mine rise in a warm spot in the kitchen. If it is too hot in the house it may rise fast and then fall some when put into the hot oven. Don’t be afraid to make this bread. You will learn how to do this easily. I bake this bread in my oven at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes.

Now for the ingredients.

4 tablespoons olive oil

1 and 1/3 cup warm water

4 cups bread flour OR 1 cup wheat and 3 cups bread flour

1/3 cup sugar

1 teaspoon plus ¼ heaping teaspoon salt

2 teaspoons bread machine yeast
Put your wet ingredients in your bread machine pan first then dry ending with yeast on top.

Directions are above this recipe.

Bake at 350 degrees for about 30 minutes.  Remove from pans and EITHER place cooling racks for about 5 minutes then remove the bread from the pans and place the bread on the cooling racks or let the bread just simply cool in the pan.

This bread can be made by hand.  See Homemade Bread by Hand
