About gDonna
The photo is my son and myself. Now days you can get a photo made to look old like this one. This photo was taken when this was the new look.

Harry S Truman was president when I was born and world war II had ended. I grew up in a time when lunch was put in a brown paper bag and a sandwich was wrapped with wax paper. There was no such thing as pantyhose, we wore stockings that attached to the rubbery clippy things that attached to the girdle. Convenience stores were not common and when we took a trip we packed a picnic basket because many places did not have fast food. Highways had places to pull over and stop, some with picnic tables. Staying Busy

November 15, 2014

One day my Grandson said, "Grandma, you are always doing something". I have not posted in awhile so I thought I would just post pictures to let everyone know that I am still here.

I sorted my curler drawer and cleaned my curlers.  When I was a child every Saturday morning my mother would collect the hair brushes and combs and soak them in the bathroom sink combs in hot soapy water.  We would take a comb and clean the curlers and clean the combs too.  We live in such a busy disposable world that sometimes we forget to do these things.

I Made some lemon raspberry Whoopie pies just because.

My husband built a screen door for the guest room.  We have Granddogs and Grandcats that come for a visit at times and we needed a way to keep the cats away from the dogs and to keep them from getting out of the house so we put in a screen door.

Now we can keep the light coming through the room.  I don't like a closed door and this was the only thing I could think of that would solve the issue.

I made a very large chicken pot pie...

And it was very good.  I will post my recipe some time in the future.

Cleaned out and organized cabinets under the counter.

These three keep me very very busy!

Made apple fritters, cool weather brings that on....

Now this was a real big project that took me a long time.  I went through all the drawers in the house and sorted.  This came out of all the sewing and craft drawers and I organized those drawers.  I was very happy when I finished.

When you do things yourself such as mending and repairing things or sewing you need notions and they are very expensive these days so we do not need to throw this type of item away.  So just sort the best we can and keep it handy.

I like to keep all the small items in jars with the lids off so I can see them and get to them easily.

Making rice pudding here, this is a very easy pudding to make.

I experimented with converting my cranberry cake to gluten free cranberry cake.

It turned out very good.  I will post this recipe soon...

More to come, just wanted to let everyone know I am still here, sorry for the gap in posting.
