About gDonna
The photo is my son and myself. Now days you can get a photo made to look old like this one. This photo was taken when this was the new look.

Convenience stores were not common and when we took a trip we packed a picnic basket because many places did not have fast food. Highways had places to pull over and stop, some with picnic tables. Monday, April 26, 1943. 48 degrees.  Did washing and had some extras Ive been missing.  3 old dresses and they may be used by some repairs.   Had to rest after dinner I hate to give in but do feel so tired .  I sometimes have to lie down.  Later went over street and got a lb coffee and bot a pitcher for milk and a pyrex dish to bake in. Made Richards macaroni for supper in it and I like it altho it is a little longer than I like Got can of varnish staine and 2 brushes 50 cents for all.

Tuesday, April 27, 30 degrees.  Did my ironing but took me all day as I dont get started very early and it was so cold I couldn't work.  Must order the fertilizer tomorrow and I want to put in peas as soon as I get Richards room done I intended to put the flat white paint on the stains overhead but just couldn't will try and do it tomorrow and perhaps it will dry so I can put one coat of muresco on P.M.  Am afraid I wont begin papering this week.  The flat white just to cover the stains.

Wednesday, April 28, 1943. 40 degrees.  Washed the ceiling in Richards room and last coat I started Friday.  Put on the paint on stairs I dont get far in one day but if I keep at it will get it done sometime. Rained a little P.M. but I went over street and spent some blue stamps have still some left.

Thursday, April 29, 1943. 31 degrees.  Did 2 coats of Munesco on Richards ceiling and pretty well done in but guess I can rest it off.  Hope I can clean the room so I can varnish the wood work next week and paper.

Friday, April 30, 1943. 38 degrees.  This is a rainy day especially the P.M. and I didn't have the courage to go out.  Last day for the blue points and I had some left but we dont need them all altho Richard thot it a tragedy that we lost some of them. My pen has gone fluie.  I cleaned Richards room and got it ready for varnish and paint.  Baked beans stuffed a chicken.
