About gDonna
The photo is my son and myself. Now days you can get a photo made to look old like this one. This photo was taken when this was the new look.

Harry S Truman was president when I was born and world war II had ended. I grew up in a time when lunch was put in a brown paper bag and a sandwich was wrapped with wax paper. There was no such thing as pantyhose, we wore stockings that attached to the rubbery clippy things that attached to the girdle. Convenience stores were not common and when we took a trip we packed a picnic basket because many places did not have fast food. Highways had places to pull over and stop, some with picnic tables. Vintage and or Homemade

December 15, 2025

I have added two new categories to our forum.

When you go to the forum now, you will find two categories at the top of the forum page.  One is for Vintage and or homemade, and the other is for Christmas only. You can post photos of vintage or homemade items to share with others. Give a brief description or directions but never share a purchased pattern or a copywrite.

We are mostly about vintage here on my blog but anything made with love is welcome.

The new categories are for us to share our items or ideas with others.

Please keep the comments minimal as you can considering the need for space for the photos.

It can be repurposed items such as this cloth embroidered vintage silverware holder that I turned into a holder for my knitting needles. :)

I cannot wait to see the items that you have to share.
