Harry S Truman was president when I was born and world war II had ended. I grew up in a time when lunch was put in a brown paper bag and a sandwich was wrapped with wax paper. There was no such thing as pantyhose, we wore stockings that attached to the rubbery clippy things that attached to the girdle. Convenience stores were not common and when we took a trip we packed a picnic basket because many places did not have fast food. Highways had places to pull over and stop, some with picnic tables. Gannys Recipe 2 Cups of gluten free all purpose mix 1/2 plus 1/4 teaspoons baking Powder 6 Tablespoons cold Butter cut into small chunks 1 ounce and a splash of any kind of milk 1/2 cup water Kosher salt to sprinkle over the top before cooking Preheat oven to 375 or less if your oven cooks hot or more if your oven cooks less hot. Mix flour and baking powder into a large bowl then cut or work in the cold butter into the flour until fine and crumbly. My daughter and I both cook all our meals at home. We live in different states but with a click of the mouse we have been taking pictures sending each other meal ideas. I wanted to share our meal photos because sometimes it helps just to see a meal put together. I am making Ground dehydrated sweet potatoes First start off with good healthy sweet potatoes and wash them then put them whole into a large boiler. This is a large pot. Grandma Donna's Sourdough Pancakes
I Ummm some more good sourdough pancakes! First let me explain what I mean when I say Fed Sourdough Starter then the recipe and pictures will follow. I like to keep my starter out on the counter at room temperature but when it is hot weather I keep it in the refrigerator because it eats too much food and too often if it is too warm. Every week or so I take it out, let it get to room temperature and feed it. I normally will feed it twice and maybe three times before I put it back in the refrigerator just to keep it built up and not weak.
