About gDonna
The photo is my son and myself. Now days you can get a photo made to look old like this one. This photo was taken when this was the new look.

Harry S Truman was president when I was born and world war II had ended. I grew up in a time when lunch was put in a brown paper bag and a sandwich was wrapped with wax paper. There was no such thing as pantyhose, we wore stockings that attached to the rubbery clippy things that attached to the girdle. Convenience stores were not common and when we took a trip we packed a picnic basket because many places did not have fast food. Highways had places to pull over and stop, some with picnic tables. I'd like to make some of the flannel cloths. I was going to see about joann fabrics selection. Any particular kind of flannel to avoid or are they all the same basic cotton flannel? This post is a good reminder for many things.

Grandma Donna wrote, Andrea B, I would look for 100% cotton flannel, there is flannel out there that seems to repel liquid so I always look for good cotton flannel.  I have found flannel baby receiving blankets in thrift stores and I go by the feel of them.  The new ones in the stores seem to repel liquid.  Feel the fabric on the bolt to see if if leaves a slick feeling, you do not want that.  Mine are still lasting for years now.  I have also found a flannel sheet from a thrift store that has worked well for all kinds of wipes, cleaning clothes etc.
