About gDonna
The photo is my son and myself. Now days you can get a photo made to look old like this one. This photo was taken when this was the new look.

Harry S Truman was president when I was born and world war II had ended. I grew up in a time when lunch was put in a brown paper bag and a sandwich was wrapped with wax paper. There was no such thing as pantyhose, we wore stockings that attached to the rubbery clippy things that attached to the girdle. Convenience stores were not common and when we took a trip we packed a picnic basket because many places did not have fast food. Highways had places to pull over and stop, some with picnic tables. The squirrels understand, they are wise, they know how and what to do. They forage for food, when it storms they stretch their body upside down on a tree and cover themselves with their tail.

One year we had a storm and Charles was cutting up limbs that had fallen.  He brought in and showed me this limb that he had cut into and found that a squirrel had stored acorns inside this tree.  This was a squirrels pantry and was storing nuts for the winter season. Charles sliced off a piece of this extraordinary find and we preserved this to use as a reminder to always store extra food.

Birds are truly amazing and have brilliant minds and abilities.  Just look at a bird nest and how it is built.  Each type of bird builds a particular designed nest. They can sew and hammer with their beak and use objects as tools.  Birds understand when it is time to build a nest and lay eggs.  They know when it is time to migrate and they can fly across the ocean by using the weather and the tailwinds to draw them across the water to save energy, and so amazing to me is they know where to go and they can come all the way back to us right here at home in the spring.

Garlic forming a seed head. How does this happen?  By no accident I can assure you.

Flowers, trees, birds, fish, frogs and humans come in all shapes and colors.  It is not for them or us to mock others, our purpose is to bloom, make our nest and store.

This little wren has a nest under our carport.  She built it in a old dart board cabinet that we have hanging on the wall under this carport.  She has a bug in her beak, she is going to feed her babies.

She is cautious because I am on the porch with the camera.

Wrens make fairly messy nests compared to others that are tightly closed nests.  There is a reason for the differences so we are to accept this because God had his reasons.  Mama and Papa did a lot of work making that nest. Papa fed Mama while she was sitting on the eggs and now that the babies have hatched, there is s frenzy of both parents flying in and out feeding the babies.  We do our best to stay as organic as we can here so they do not get into pesticides.

The wrens do not care about what Mr. and Mrs. Bluebird's house looks like, and we hear no gossip going on because everyone is busy taking care of their own household.  Now let Mr. and Mrs. Hawk or Mr. and Mrs. Snake come around and everyone will be out making a fuss.  They all come to warn the others and do their best to chase them off to protect their babies.

The lessons are everywhere if we just pay attention.

We too can sew and mend and build and feed our family.   We humans are all different and are not to judge others, we are here to do the work that is needed and to love.  Even if for some reason we did not have love growing up, we understand that was wrong so we change paths and start a new generation that work hard and does this with love. Just think  what would happen if we did not change the path.

God gave us free will and everyone makes mistakes, it is part of being human.  We should not think of ourselves above or better than someone else, that is when we have lost our way.

Yesterday I did laundry and hung it out on the clothesline.  Last evening I ironed the pillowcases and I could smell the freshly washed and sun dried cotton pillowcases and remembered why linen closets in the past smelled so good.  Going back to basics the old way is a very good thing to do.

The herb garden area is coming to life this spring.  A herb garden can be a healthy decision because there are many benefits of growing herbs.

My post today, I am concerned about people, so many are living on edge.  I even find myself edgy and so I go out and dig in the dirt, plant more seeds that turn into flowers or vegetables.  We must start with home, wherever that place is to make change.  We start in our heart and fix ourselves and then our home and then we take that outside our home.

We all know that there is something terribly wrong in our world today.  We cannot just simple complain about it because there is something we can do about it.  We can be examples of what it should be like.

Love one another, do not judge no matter how hard that is to do, just keep working on that.  Stay busy with important things and do what is right.

Nothing has happened to me personally for me to write this post, it was put in my heart to write it.
