Since retiring and living the good countryside life I find it is the norm to bake our own bread and i do everything your doing ie the wrapping of the bread "But i also use a thin meat spike to make small holes in the sides/ends /and the base of the loaf, about 5 holes in each section, i find this lets out a lot of the heat and when the loaf is ready to be wrapped (just as you have done) the loaf is put into a large cake tin and used the following day, I have had no trouble doing the hole bit, and the texture of the bread is just great, Oh i should have said i also brush warm water over all the loaf pre doing the hole bit,
