I feel we are resembling the influenza epidemic of 1917-1918. Here we are 100 years later and we are in the midst of a flu epidemic.
If you have emailed me and I have not responded to your email it is because Charles and I have Influenza A Strain and we have been and are still terribly sick. We are not out of the woods yet so I am asking you to please hold your emails until I post again to let you know we are better.
I wish every state in our country would have started this Mask Ordinance as they did in San Francisco in 1918. Possibly we could at least slow this epidemic down. I feel people should be wearing masks now and those that don't want to look silly or think it is too dramatic need to get over it and put on a mask!
My Grandfather died during the Spanish flu epidemic in 1918, he caught the flu and it turned into pneumonia. My Grandfather was only 24 years old, my Father was 2 1/2 years old and my Grandmother was expecting my fathers brother. My Grandmother also caught the flu and My Uncle Alexander was always thin and not as healthy as his brothers.
This flu epidemic is very contagious and serious. We don't have to wait for government instructions to take preventative measures. We had a situation where we Charles and I had to go to the emergency room and that is where we were exposed. I came down with symptoms two days after exposure and Charles three days after exposure.
We both have been to the doctor and at this time my fever has decreased but Charles fever is still spiking and if his does not get better by today we have been instructed to go to ER for IV's and possible admission. We are both in pain, very severe throat pain and body aches, coughing, all the unpleasant things that go along with that. So instead of emails, please say prayers for us and others with the flu and for this epidemic to stop.
My brother and his wife (Bert and Rayanna) also have the flu, both have a different strain and they too are very sick. So if you could say prayers for them as well I would be very thankful.
Please be careful and I when you see a normal post you will know we are better.
Take Care, Grandma Donna
